It has been reported that young Contemporary Christian/religious singer
Amy Grant, 18, has been slated to star as Max in the upcoming "Dark Angel"

Yes. I'm kidding. I want DA back even if it means another actress as
Max. Such as Anna Pacquin or Kristin Kreuk. Or the gorgeous Lucy Liu.

As much as I love those actresses, I don't think they'd make very good
Max's.... Especially Anna Pacquin, (who btw, I met in NYC. Woohoo).
I dunno who would.

Wrong again, numbnuts. In an effort to appeal to a racially diverse
and physically challenged audience, the actor will be Star Jones.

Thank you.

It'll probably be Kristin Kreuk or Kiera Knightley who may move to the US.
Virginie Ledoyen is also being considered.

It has been reported that transexual and star of films the Crying Game
and Stargate Jaye Davidson, 35, has been slated to star as Max in the
upcoming "Dark Angel" film. The movie's setting will be changed and
Paramount Pictures, having bought DA from 20th Century Fox, will
oversee it. The movie will take on a homosexual themed tone as it is
revealed that all Manticore are androgenous.

The movie will take on a homosexual themed
In case you missed it, there was a serious homosexual theme there to
begin with, what with Original Cindy and Logan.

I'm aware of that. Whilst I loved the show (enough to buy the series on
DVD), I'm happy enough with it ending at 2 seasons. A proper finish would
have been nice, perhaps, but I think the show would have gone rapidly
downhill as they ran out of plausible ideas.

I'm not sure about that.
Many questions remained unanswered.
What did that cult ultimately want to achieve? What was the exact truth
about the origins of it? Would the founders return? What is the faith of
Freak Nation? What of Max, Logan and their friends?

As I said, an actual ending would have been nice. But there wasn't really
enough juice left in it for a full 22-hour season. Even season 2 was
floundering... until they got the Breeding Cult going, anyway. The
disappearance of Lydecker and the desturction of Manticore left 'em
without a direction - which the cult filled nicely. But that angle would
play out soon enough.

All shows which try to focus on a single angle finish quickly: 'Nowhere
Man', or 'The Pretender', for just two examples.

Maybe they could have had a mini series to tie up loose ends.

Yeah. With respectively only one and four seasons (well plus 2 tele-movies
or so I've heard).

<shrug> At least the DA series ended each season on a closure - even if it
left some questions open. Imagine if it had the usual Star Trek
cliffhanger. :P

That many? I thought it was 3. That's about where I stopped watching, at
any rate.

I heard that was the original plan, 3.
But I don't think that 3d one was ever made.
Or was it?
